this sounds REAL nice
not much I would change if I were making necessarily; ion't listen to a lotta stuff like this but the entire track is very pleasing to listen to, especially when the percussion kicks in. obviously it's not super dynamic, which may stem from a lack of lyrics (hip hop is kinda hard to do as an instrumental lmao), but even then I'm still engaged the entire time
really tho I'm a huge fan

Lothyde responds:

Very cool

wow. i don't have much bad to say about this. i love it
my only recommendation is that there be a bit more from 0:48 - 1:32, like a pad building up in volume and some other neat little details

default-taste responds:

thanks for the feedback! happy that you liked it!!

yo????????
this song is so simple but so GOOD. i love the way this was executed. it's so weird but in every good way, ESPECIALLY 0:07 like MAN i wish i could make shit like that
only real thing i don't like is the "graininess" of the chords. i know it's a mod of beepbox so there's not much variety, but still, it'd be so awesome if u could find a way to make the tone smoother i guess ??
i really like the other lead that comes in at 0:52
this is so cool man

Pinkflamingo01 responds:

Aight. I will try and make it a bit less crowded! Thanks for commenting !

This beepbox alternative is actually great. I will try and find a way to remake this to try and make it sound a. ok. thanks for pointing this out

interesting thing you've tried here
composition-wise, the main thing i've noticed is the key signature, or seemingly lack thereof. for most of the time, it seems like it's in B minor, but in the cello section, there's a C natural, and tbh, i don't really like it. having accidentals is fine, but it feels like this song just kinda uses whatever notes it wants, which is usually fine, but as a beginner, i'd recommend you avoid accidentals and stick to the key signature unless you truly believe it belongs (song artists often use accidentals for a sudden change of mood or pace, but doing this right takes much time to master). i should give praise where it's due however. the accidentals are used BEAUTIFULLY here at 0:53. the B -> A# -> B -> C# is amazing, and definitely one of the best uses of accidentals in the entire song
more on composition, there's a lot of dissonant chords, which, much like accidentals, are incredibly difficult to use, so i'd try to avoid them while you're getting started out
the drums are good, and definitely one of the best parts of the song, but the main thing that bugs me is the amount of high end on the kick. it makes it sound less like a kick and more like a click with a bunch of low end, which is not what you want for most scenarios. this problem can easily be fixed with an EQ tho
the piano part suffers the most from the composition issues imo. it's not all bad, like the 0:53 i pointed out earlier, but it often feels like it has no continuity and it just doesn't make sense. this isn't always a bad thing, but here it definitely is a bad thing
there are a lot of smaller nitpicks i have, but for now, focus on the problems i mentioned above. they'll REALLY help you in the future

tysm for your feedback :o
i'll work on a second project later, i will try to do my best and take a lot of attention on what you said. thank you again <3

very interesting sound you've gone for. i like the chords and bell-synth-thingy; those are what definitely stand out the most for me
the main issue here is the building of the song, or more appropriately, lack thereof. there is nothing that makes this song build. it's just the same thing for 2 minutes, which while not always a bad thing, is not too great in this particular style because it just ends up sounding repetitive, predictable, and boring
this does not mean the song is bad however; it's still good (again, the chords and bell stick out to me). in the future, i would advise having some variety through the song

carsidcarsick responds:

Thanks for the advice, I’ll keep that in mind in the future when I’m making music.

woah this is p cool
i like how simple the track is. it has the same melody for most of the song, which i like, but it keeps building on it, which i love. idk im just a sucker for that kinda stuff
honestly kinda feels like the credits song to a really good indie game. im just gettin that vibe from it
but yea this is cool !!!

Bosa responds:

thank you sm!

wow. beautiful. genuinely beautiful
the instrument choice is spot-on. i love the bass, especially. the way everything comes in feels really natural as well, like the vocals. speaking of the vocals, they have so much damn emotion behind them. i love it. the harmonies on the vocals are also really good and definitely added some depth to the song
appreciate the guitar solo at 2:58 , those parts are always awesome for me whenever they're in songs
i like the general structure of the song too, mainly how it wasn't until the first chorus was over that the drums were a heavy part of the verses. don't know how to word it (cuz i don't make music in forms like these. instrumental gang for life), but just know i like it. whatever ya did it's working
i also do hope you're doing better now, y'know, regarding the reason this song exists n' all

this piece touches me. it's beautiful. i love it

Troisnyx responds:

That's really high praise; thank you so much for your kindness ;_;

this track seems to have an idea that it can only partially execute
the progression (C -> D -> B -> C) is fine and very simple. no problems there
the repeating F? i dislike it. instead of having that, i think a bass which follows the same progression, but maybe expanded a little bit, would fit well. for example, maybe you could keep the original CDBC progression for the first 4 measures, but then go to a G -> D -> B -> C. same thing, but with 1 note difference. this makes it so much better while keeping things simple, and from what you have right now, it does seem pretty simple
this would not only make it seem less repetitive, but also remove some dissonance happening between the Fs and some other track
it's easy to tell that the piano is fake, so you'd probably want a more complex melody and some humanization
i don't really like the drums. i think it's mainly to do with the hi-hats. if you kept it at kick-hat-snare-hat instead of doing several hats in a row (like an electronic song, which this is not), it would make it sound more real
let's move onto the creepy parts. it's a good idea, but something i think that would benefit it a lot is to change the key to minor and alter the melody to become creepier. you don't have to have that familiar progression anymore; people already know something's wrong. the moment they suspect something's wrong, you should throw them in. give them a melody to give em nightmares. not really, most people can't do that. but change the melody, that's my point. otherwise, it's cool
pretty neat idea

Dragou123 responds:

Thanks for the music lesson ill keep the stuff you told me in mind. Oh and the the altering melody thing I sorta tried it. Ok so I now tried to improve it. Its probably worse now :)

song's fine. it's cool
you seem to have composition and instrument choice down, so i won't go into too much detail and just say yea, the instruments fit and the composition good
i would rate it much higher, but there's one problem
what. is up. with the distortion
i can barely understand what's going on because it's so loud and distorted. not even rock music is this loud usually. you REALLY need to chill on the distortion slider, dawg

FunnyMeatyHub responds:

yeah ik its pretty old

this has to be one of the strangest songs i've listened to in a while. i like it a lot
this song was half-good for me, chord-wise. the first half of the chord progression that repeats throughout the whole song sounds great. nice, simple chord. the other two chords that follow it sound out of tune and weird. i assume it was what you were going for, and even if you were going for a weird vibe, i think you're overdoing it, unless you have a concept in mind which flies right over my bowling-ball-lookin-brain
everything else about the song's great tho. it's simple and unique. good stuff

Charlmot responds:

Interesting, I'll definitely keep this in mind for future songs. I've been making a lot of out of tune things recently and not realizing it, maybe I need to do more ear training lol
Thanks so much for the review!!!

I may be stupid... yea.

uhhhhhhh
